Madison Square and the Empire State Building ( 2.1.2008 )

With a overly generous offer from one of my liquor store owners, Molly and I headed to a Knicks game on a Friday evening. We had courtside tickets (actually, they were four rows back, but when you can reach out and touch the players, you can't tell the difference). Walt Frazier was six seats away announcing the game, and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, who dropped in for the game, was about thirty seats away. We had waitstaff and private bathrooms. The only way to see a game. Trust me.

The New York Sticks, the inter-city youth drum band, ROCKED the house!

Molly and I, and some chick in the background trying to get in a photo with the good looking people.

It was a good game, Knicks won, but who was paying attention. We were just so damn close it was amazing!

After the game, we decided to walk across town to catch our 6 train uptown. We got side tracked at that large building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street: a little place called the Empire State Building. I had never been up to the top, and a night in the middle of the winter in the freezing cold seemed like a good idea.

A view uptown, the large white building is 30 Rock, the home of NBC. Sort of the place Molly works, but not really. The large dark spot past that is Central Park.

The view looking east. Cool night, I'm sure almost everyone got a text message from me. The city looked very pretty lit up at night.
