Da Bronx for Pizza (2.18.07)

(Molly Post)

Learning from Cody's first Sunday (the cold day at the Irish Hunger Memorial), I decided an inside activity would be the way to go for my first Sunday. Since I hadn't been to visit Sal at Pugsleys, my college pizza hang out, since graduation, we decided to take the Metro North train up to the Bronx. Surprisingly, a place that is 10 miles away takes about an hour to reach. When we arrived outside the doors just before 2 PM, it appeared closed! I nearly started to cry.

(I know it doesn't look like much, but I swear, it has the best pizza I've ever tasted).

Luckily, I had Pugsley's phone number stored in my phone. I called, Sal picked up, and told me he opens at 2 PM on Sundays. Phew! He proceeded to come out through a side door and enlist Cody's help manually opening the front metal door. Of course, Cody helped. We were the first customers in the place and got the freshest pizza of the day. It was delicious!

After eating entirely too much pizza and watching Fordham students come and go for a few hours, we took the train back home. Another successful Sunday.
