UCD Reunion

(This is Molly's first post for her University College Dublin (UCD) Reunion in NYC)
In November, Jess and most of my other roomates from Dublin (Megan, Brian, and James) came to New York for UCD's Annual Reunion Dinner at Rosie O'Grady's. They all stayed with us, which made our apartment very cosy for a weekend. We hung out all weekend from Friday afternoon through Sunday when everyone left. Friday, we went to our local German pub, Hieldberg, to drink beer out of extremely large glass boots. We all enjoy boots of beer, but Cody really had a good time...

We had a fun time retelling stories from our 4 months in Ireland. Below are the girl roomates: Jess, me, and Megan.

We ended up at Kinsale (of course) and talked, laughed, and danced into the wee-hours of the night. Jess and Megan had fun busting out their weirdest and dorkiest dance moves!

When in Dublin, we lived on Fortescue Lane so, naturally, we called ourselves Team Fortescue. Below is a picture of Team Fortescue (minus our 6th roommate, Terry, who couldn't make it to the reunion this year): Brian, me, Jess, Megan, and James.

Saturday, Cody and Jess went downtown to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. It ended up pouring just as they reached the halfway point across the bridge - they got pretty soaked. Meanwhile, the rest of us were staying warm and dry at our aparment. In the afternoon, we all meet up for lunch. We found a pizza place (perfect for hangovers), which hit the spot.

Saturday night, we had our UCD Dinner at Rosie O'Grady's, an Irish pub/restaurant in midtown - they rent out the upstairs for the private party and pay for our dinner. It's a really yummy(and expensive) dinner for all the "alumnis" of the UCD Study Abroad Program. They have been holding the dinner for about six years. Cody ended up sneaking in about halfway through and ate off Jess' and my plate. Below is a cute brother/sister picture!

After the dinner, the UCD staff joins the "students" in the pub downstairs to listen to live Irish music and have a few more pints. It's fun to request and sing/dance to all of the songs we remember from Ireland.

Overall, great weekend. Can't wait for next year!!
